Paul Perantinides

Paul Perantinides

Paul Perantinides was born in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1944. In 1966, Mr. Perantinides graduated from Youngstown State University with a B.A. in Social Studies. He went on to study at the University of Akron School of Law, graduating in 1969. He is currently licensed to practice law in the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania.

In 1966, Mr. Perantinides was commissioned in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as captain in 1971. At this point, he began practicing law with the firm of Schwab, Sager, Grosenbaugh, Rothal, Fort, Skidmore, & Nikes Co., L.P.A., becoming a partner in the firm in 1974. He is currently a partner in the firm of Perantinides & Nolan Co., L.P.A. Mr. Perantinides devotes his practice to medical negligence, product liability, premises liability, and vehicular liability cases at both the trial and appellate levels of the state and federal courts.

Paul Perantinides has been recognized by and is a member of many esteemed professional organizations, including the Best Lawyers in America, Who’s Who in American Law, The International Society of Primerus Law Firms, the Akron Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Ohio Bar Foundation, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, the Roscoe Pound Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the Advocate-Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the National College of Advocacy. In 1998, Mr. Perantinides received the University of Akron Outstanding Alumni Award.

Aside from his legal practice, Mr. Perantinides is an active member of the Akron community, serving as Fundraising Chairman for the University of Akron School of Law, Board of Trustee member and former President of the Greek Orthodox Church, chairman of the Ohio Weslyan Parents’ Council, and member of the Advanced Placement Council at the University of Akron School of Law. In addition, he is a member of the community advisory council of WKSU, the national public radio affiliate at Kent State University.

Mr. Perantinides is a frequent lecturer on the subjects of insurance law, trial practices, medical negligence, and litigation techniques, authoring numerous course materials in conjunction with these lectures. He is also the proud father of five children: Maria, Constantine, Alexandria, Elizabeth, and Nicole.

Chris T. Nolan

Chris T. Nolan

Chris T. Nolan was born in Skopia, Greece, in 1947 and raised in the Akron, Ohio, area. In 1970, Mr. Nolan graduated from Ohio State University with a B.A. in History. He then went on to study at the University of Akron School of Law, graduating and earning his license to practice law in the State of Ohio in 1973.

Mr. Nolan began his legal career with the law firm of Schwab, Sager, Grosenbaugh, Rothal, Fort, Skidmore, & Nukes. He is currently a partner in the law firm of Perantinides & Nolan, where he focuses his practice on insurance defense, medical negligence, product liability, civil rights litigation, and vehicular liability cases at both the trial and appellate levels of the state and federal courts.

In addition to his legal practice, Chris T. Nolan is an active member of the Akron Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Lawyers, and a Bencher on the Scanlon Inn of Courts.

Mr. Nolan is actively involved in his local community, as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Akron Bar Association, a member and chairman of various Bar committees, and a former member of the Fairlawn, Ohio, Planning Commission. He is a frequent lecturer at local and statewide seminars, lecturing on such subjects as insurance law, trial practice, and litigation techniques. In addition, he has authored numerous course materials and chapters in publications in conjunction with the lectures.

Michael J. Maillis

Michael J. Maillis was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on September 27, 1969. He attended Youngstown State University, graduating in 1990 on the Dean’s List. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 1995. Mr. Maillis is the former Assistant Law Director for the City of Youngstown and the former Assistant County Prosecutor for Mahoning County. As one of the attorneys of Perantinides & Nolan, he devotes his legal practice to personal injury, medical malpractice, trial practice litigation, and criminal defense.

Antonios P. Tsarouhas

Antonios P. Tsarouhas

Antonios P. Tsarouhas was born in Atloona, Pennsylvania, in 1967. He attended both Penn State University and the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with a B.A. in Economics and Finance. In 1994, he graduated from the Ohio Northern University College of Law. At this point, Mr. Tsarouhas joined the attorneys of Perantinides & Nolan, concentrating his practice on medical negligence, product liability, vehicular and premises liability, and intentional tort. He is also a member of the Akron Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Franklin Trial Lawyers Association, and the Charles F. Scanlon Inns of Court. In addition, he serves as co-chair of the American Trial Lawyers Association’s Laparoscopic Litigation Group.

Mr. Tsarouhas has authored or co-authored several publications, including "The Derivative and Independent Approach to Spousal Consortium", Ohio Northern University Law Review, Volume XIX, No. 4 (1993); "Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy: What is the Standard of Care?" Medical Malpractice Verdicts, Settlements & Experts, Volume 10:1 (January 1994), co-authored with Paul G. Perantinides; "The Case Against Legal Assisted Suicide", Ohio Northern University Law Review, Volume XX, No. 3 (1994); "The Medical-Legal Risk of Thermal Injury During Laparoscopic Monopolar Electrosurgery", The Journal of Healthcare and Risk Management (Winter 1998 Ed.), co-authored with Paul G. Perantinides; and (pending approval) "Avoiding Pitfalls in Medical Negligence", Am Jur Trial (2001), co-authored with Paul G. Perantinides.

Mr. Tsarouhas is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Ohio, the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court, and the U.S. Federal Court of Claims. He is actively involved in his local community, serving on the Board of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Akron, as President of the Greek Men’s Club Organization, and as Secretary of AHEPA Chapter 63.
