Dancing for the Kids
Pano Tsarouhas will be participating in the 2018 Dancing for the Kids event to benefit the Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Akron Children’s Hospital.

Dear Friends and Colleges,

This Friday, October 19, 2018, my Godson, Pano Tsarouhas will be participating in the 2018 Dancing for the Kids event to benefit the Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Akron Children’s Hospital, specifically the School and Community Oncology Outreach Program (SCOOP).

Not long ago he was one of those kids whose lives was saved because of this program and its generous donors and supporters.

In August 2017, Pano was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma. By direction of Chief Oncologist, Dr. Hord, who was Pano’s oncologist, he immediately started treatment at Akron Children’s Hospital and over eight months he received 15 rounds of chemotherapy and seven weeks (33 rounds) of photon and proton radiation at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. In April 2018, his scans revealed no evidence of active disease!

Imagine not being able to start your first days, weeks and months of High School because you’re in the hospital. The SCOOP staff worked with his school to arrange online classes and a tutor while he was undergoing treatment. Once Pano finished treatment, the SCOOP staff educated the school staff about his progress and arranged his return to school. All while keeping him on track to finish his Freshman year!

I am eternally grateful for and fully support the Oncology Group at Akron Children’s Hospital as over the past year I have seen and know firsthand how the money is spent. 100% of all funds raised will be used to continue and improve this program at the discretion of the Chief Oncologist, Dr. Hord and continue to help families and save young lives like Pano’s.

I ask that you join me in supporting this program. To learn more and make a donation kindly visit http://bit.ly/2Eqfqet

Sincerely,
